How’s your communication?
Relationships are hard in general, but if one or both of you work in a guardian role, oy vey.
The shifts, the trauma, and the mandatory overtime can often make it hard to connect. Many of the clients we work with are hard-working, dedicated, and kind - but they grow apart and aren’t sure what to do about it.
So we’ve made this workbook to help you reconnect and improve your communication skills. It’s straightforward and efficient - and will give you skills that keep your relationship strong for years to come.
Duration: 4 weeks, 1-2 hours per week
Cost: $49
This resource is designed for you if:
One or both of you work as a guardian.
The course is specifically built for the strain that comes with working as a first responder or healthcare/deathcare professional.
You want clear steps to follow.
If you thrive when given a clear set of instructions, this resource is a great fit. We have broken some of the core skills that we build with couples into a straightforward manual.
You own your shit.
For this to be successful, both partners need to be willing to do the work. Just like a personal trainer, we can lay out the exercises, but you have to lift the weight.
You aren’t in crisis.
If your relationship is extremely rocky, this might not be the right tool. If you are struggling to communicate without high levels of conflict, it might be best to pull in a professional to help ease the tension.
What you will learn:
Around here we believe in a balance between understanding and acting - we need to understand ourselves and what we need, then we need to take appropriate action. This workbook follows that same format.
First, we start by guiding you through some questions to assess how the relationship is doing.
Then we teach you a simple method for making small, gradual improvements.
Next, we teach you a process for ongoing check-ins - small moments of communication that make a big difference.
And finally, we help you build a larger plan for communication and connection. The key is repetition, and we teach you how to do that successfully.
