FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • My fee is $155/session and I do not accept insurance at this time. If the cost is prohibitive, give me a call and we can work out a sliding-scale fee. Please don’t let cost stand in the way of taking care of your mental wellness.

  • Yes. I come from a first responder family and understand the mindset and stressors. I know that you are used to being the one who helps, and asking for help is one of the most uncomfortable things you might do. I won’t be shocked by your dark jokes and won’t cry when you describe a hard scene. And (perhaps most importantly) I know the difference between an engine and a truck.

  • Well, first there is a lot of hugging and crying. That part is mandatory.

    Just kidding. The experience will depend on what you need, but overall I follow a pattern of assessing and adjusting. We work together to determine your goals, find patterns, and seek solutions. Think of it this way - if you are a professional football player, it would be logical to work with a physical therapist. And that therapist would address areas of your body that are injured and assign exercises to keep them strong. Likewise, if you are a guardian, you are experiencing things that are mentally and emotionally challenging. We will work together to figure out how the work is impacting you, then make adjustments to keep you strong. Straightforward, practical, no hugging.

  • Because of my training and experience, they are very similar. Both have a heavy focus on identifying patterns and methods of change.

    If you are in crisis or want to do extensive trauma work (such as EMDR), a therapeutic relationship is needed and therefore available only in Nevada. The easiest way to know if I can help is to set a call and we can discuss your needs.

  • No problem, sometimes it is hard to get started. Which is why we built our on-demand trainings to help. For a lot of folks, the information will be what you need to take control of your mental health.
